Title: Carleman estimates for the Euler-Bernoulli plate operator

Abstract: 
 We present some a-priori estimates of Carleman type for the 
 Euler-Bernoulli plate operator.  As an application, we consider 
 a problem of boundary observability for the Euler-Bernoulli 
 plate coupled  with the heat equation.
